Holiday Sweater
Contest
Gatorade USA 2019
Playing sports may be very rewarding, but when the coldest season of the year comes. It's much more appealing laying in bed than playing.
The "Gatorade Holiday Sweater Contest" campaign was launched to the North American media during Christmas as a fun motivation to exercise, no matter how the weather looks outside. The contest winners received sweaters to protect them from the cold while training in the winter.
Gifting the family customized hand-knitted sweaters for Christmas is an American tradition. It became a playful activity that can be as creative as the drawings and patterns. From the idea of the ugly sweater, we composed an exclusive Gatorade pattern containing elements of the brand and the season. Besides memorable athletes playing for the NBA, NFL, WNBA, MLB, Premier League, and the Olympics, other people also had the chance to get sweaters knitted with their portraits. They should post a picture practicing physical activity, tag Gatorade and use the hashtag #HolidaySweaterContest to participate.
The team and I drew more than 150 portraits of athletes and influencers and those produced during the campaign.
